Lauren Walch, LMSW
President
Lauren is an Outpatient Oncology Social Worker at Grady. Previously, Lauren worked at Piedmont Atlanta and the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital where she provided psychosocial care to patients and families. She earned an MSW from the University of Georgia and BS in Sociology from Georgia Southern University.

Emily Brown, LCSW

Emily is the Program Director at Cancer Support Community Atlanta. She received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia and has worked in Oncology Social Work since 2015.  Emily has been on the GASWOG board since 2016 serving as Treasurer from 2017 - 2019 and President in 2020.

Erin Edgeworth, LCSW, OSW-C

Erin is an Oncology Social Worker with Atlanta Cancer Care.  Erin provides short-term counseling for cancer survivors and their families, crisis intervention, education, health-system navigation,information on community resources, and coordinating resources for access to care such as transportation and financial assistance. Erin previously worked for the American Cancer Society for over 10 years and also worked with survivors of HIV/AIDS. Erin received a BSW from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and an MSSW from the University of Texas at Austin. Erin is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers and the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Workers.

​Betel Mulugeta

Betel Mulugeta is an outpatient social worker at Emory University Hospital where she serves lung transplant recipients. She provides support to patients and their caregivers, starting from the evaluation/workup phase of transplant. Betel ensures patients have access to resources that alleviate barriers to treatment and, thereby, a successful transplant journey. She obtained a Master's of Social Work from Georgia State University. She served a wide range of patients as a student-intern at Grady Memorial Hospital and Dekalb Medical. She previously worked as an Oncology Social Worker at The Blood and Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia.

CaTecia Godbee, LCSW
MEMBER AT LARGE
CaTecia Godbee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. She also earned a Master of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia. She is a licensed clinical social worker and currently employed at Georgia Cancer Specialist.
CaTecia is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Georgia Social Work Oncology Group.  She is the owner of Holistic Support Counseling LLC where she provides counseling /therapy to populations dealing with grief, loss, life transitions, and mental health challenges using an online platform. 
 She has a special interest in oncology, as she has been a cancer survivor for over a decade.  In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time with friends and family.

Lisa Mayes, LCSW
MEMBER AT LARGE
​Lisa Mayes is an Oncology Clinical Social Worker with Northside Hospital’s Cancer Institute for the Atlanta and Midtown hospital locations.  She provides Psych oncology services to patients and families through crisis intervention, short term counseling, resource coordination, and facilitation of support groups.  Lisa has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from John Carroll University, both located in Ohio where Lisa is originally from.  Lisa has a 22 year career in Social Work, with much of her work being in the field of hospice previously.  Lisa is a current member of AOSW in addition to GA SWOG.  ​

Rochelle Schube, LCSW
​Rochelle is an Oncology Social Worker with Atlanta Cancer Care at the Northside Hospital Tower. She provides short term counseling to identify problems, facilitates referrals to community resources, and assesses patient and family psychosocial needs. Rochelle previously worked as a Hospice Social Worker, providing Social Work services and Grief counseling, and served as a Bright Pink Support Ambassador for several years, supporting young women who are high risk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer. She has presented on the Psychosocial Impact of Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer. Rochelle earned her Master’s degree from Valdosta State University’s School of Social Work and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Georgia State University. Rochelle is also a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers.
